THE FLORIST PROJECT
Branding and Interface Design for an imagined florist shop - CZ Studio. As a self-driven project, the design was inspired by the flower collection shot by photographer, cottonbro. Focusing on framing these incredible photos, I built a soft and unique visual identity that was accompanied by an elegant website and app. With this project, I wanted to work with a simplistic style that emulates the delicacy of flowers in bloom.

Branding /
The visual identity of the store drew from soft pastel creams and a delicate serif font. Keeping the colour palette minimal to highlight the vibrant photos, the visual design was simple, clean, and fresh. The repetition in the curved, organic arcs was a way to emulate my vision for subtle elegance and tenderness. This is contrasted with sharp corners and bold text to keep the design contemporary.
Interface Design /
Part of the project was to design a web-store for the local florist shop. Again, I relied on the photos to bring a unique, vibrance and dynamic to the design. The soft pastels are reflected within the web-store and are contrasted with a deep, muted green for readability. The design continues its clean design so that it is accessible and readable for all users.
App Design /
The App uses a similar visual identity as the web-store but relies more on the vibrant photos for backgrounds. With less space, I relinquished the airy and open design that web-store uses for a more image-heavy, immersive experience. Imagining the app to be more of an exploration of the practice in flower arranging, the app was designed around the ideas of workshops. The idea of immersion into the florist’s world guided the design of the app, overall.
